How It Works

Fix the gutters. Protect the home.

1

Gutter System Inspection

We inspect the entire gutter system: hangers, slope, seams, end caps, downspouts, and fascia board condition. We identify every failure point, not just the obvious one.

2

Repair vs. Replace Assessment

We tell you honestly whether a repair will last or if section replacement is the better investment. Sometimes resealing one joint fixes the problem. Sometimes an entire run needs replacement.

3

Targeted Repair

We reseal leaking seams, reattach sagging sections, replace damaged hangers, clear blockages, and repair or replace fascia board where rot has occurred.

4

Flow Test

After every repair, we flush the system with water to confirm proper flow from gutter through downspout to ground drainage. You see it work before we leave.

Common Failures

What goes wrong with gutters.

Gutter systems fail in predictable ways. Here are the most common issues we repair across Central Valley homes.

Leaking Seams & Joints

Sectional gutters have joints every 10 feet. Sealant dries out and cracks over time, creating drip points that stain siding and erode landscaping. We clean and reseal with commercial-grade gutter sealant.

Sagging & Detachment

Gutters sag when hangers fail or when debris weight pulls them away from the fascia. We replace failed hangers, re-slope the gutter for proper drainage, and secure to rafter tails when fascia is damaged.

Fascia Rot

Water overflowing behind gutters rots the fascia board they are mounted to. We replace rotted fascia sections and install new gutters with proper drip edge to prevent recurrence.

Downspout Clogs & Disconnects

Clogged downspouts cause gutters to overflow even when clean. Disconnected downspouts dump water directly against your foundation. We clear, reconnect, and extend downspouts away from the structure.

If your gutters are beyond repair, see our gutter installation page for seamless replacement options. For the full picture, start with a free roof inspection.

Why Econo Roofing

Gutter repair from the roof experts.

Root Cause, Not Just Symptoms

A leaking gutter might be caused by improper roof drainage, not the gutter itself. As roofers, we diagnose the real problem and fix it permanently.

Fascia Repair Included

Many gutter companies do not handle fascia repair. We do. Rotted fascia is replaced as part of the gutter repair, ensuring the new work has a solid mounting surface.

Flat-Rate Written Estimates

We quote the full scope of work before we start. No hourly billing, no surprise line items, no upselling on site.

When to Call

Signs your gutters need repair.

Gutter problems get worse with every rain. Catching them early avoids fascia damage, foundation issues, and landscape erosion.

Water dripping behind gutters

Water running behind the gutter instead of through it rots fascia and soffit.

Visible sagging or separation

Gutters pulling away from the roofline cannot direct water properly.

Paint peeling on fascia or siding

Peeling paint near gutters indicates steady water contact from overflow or leaks.

Erosion at foundation line

Soil washing away near your foundation means gutters or downspouts are not directing water properly.

Pair gutter repair with a roof maintenance visit for complete drainage system coverage. Or schedule a free inspection to assess everything at once.

Frequently asked

About gutter repair.

When can a gutter be repaired vs replaced?

Repair if: localized sagging, single-corner separation, isolated fascia damage, or seam leak. Replace if: widespread corrosion, many sag points, fascia rot under most of the run, or gutters older than 25 years.

What does gutter repair cost?

Re-securing sagging gutters with new hidden hangers: $150–$400. Seam resealing and patching: $100–$300. Fascia repair behind a single section: $300–$700. We always quote flat-rate before work begins.

Why do gutters sag?

Spike-and-ferrule fasteners fail (decades-old install style), hidden hangers were spaced too widely, or fascia behind the gutter rotted from a slow leak. We fix the cause, not just the symptom — re-sagging won't happen.

My gutters overflow during storms — can you fix that?

Usually yes. The cause is one of: undersized gutter (5" instead of 6"), insufficient downspouts (need 1 per 35 linear feet), or improper slope (gutters should drop 1/4" per 10 feet toward downspouts). All three are correctable without replacement.

Can you repair gutter end caps and corners?

Yes — these are the most common failure points. We re-seal with maker-approved butyl sealant and reinforce with new corner brackets if needed.

Do gutter repairs come with a warranty?

Yes. 2-year workmanship warranty on all gutter repairs. If the same section fails within the warranty, we return at no charge.

A note from Mario

How we approach gutter repair.

Most gutter problems are repairable. Replacing a perfectly good run because one section sags is what causes 4× the cost it should.

When You Need It

When to call us for gutter repair.

Gutter repair is the right intervention when gutters are sagging at brackets, leaking at corners or seams, separating from fascia, missing downspout sections, or partially blocked beyond cleaning. Repair is appropriate when 70%+ of the gutter system is in good condition — when failures are localized to specific areas. When 30%+ of the system is failing, full replacement is often more cost-good.

Materials & Methods

Gutter Repair materials & systems we install.

Repairs use matching aluminum stock (K-style or half-round), replacement brackets and hangers, sealant for seam repair (high-quality polyurethane or butyl), downspout sections in matching color and size, and gutter guards as needed. We usually can match colors on installs under 15 years old. older systems with faded paint may show some color variation in repaired sections.

Process & Timeline

What to expect — our gutter repair process.

Repair visits begin with full gutter inspection from the ground and ladder. We document all issues photographically, then provide a scope-of-work estimate. Most repair projects complete in a single day. Common repairs: re-securing sagging sections (3-5 hours), corner re-sealing (1-2 hours), downspout replacement (2-3 hours), bracket replacement (3-5 hours).

Cost Factors

Gutter Repair cost in California.

Gutter repair usually runs $250-$1,200 depending on scope. Localized leak repair: $250-$450. Sagging section re-securement: $400-$700. Corner replacement: $300-$500. Downspout replacement: $250-$500. Multi-area repairs combining several issues: $750-$1,500.

What sets us apart

Why homeowners choose us for gutter repair.

The biggest difference between us and most other gutter repair contractors comes down to certification. Most local roofers can install the materials. Few can register the warranties that protect those installations for 25-50 years. As OC Platinum Preferred contractors — the top 1% of Owens Corning installers nationwide — we register Platinum Protection warranties that cover both materials and workmanship for life, non-prorated. As GAF Master Elite contractors — the top 2% of GAF installers — we register Golden Pledge warranties that cover 50 years of materials plus 25 years of workmanship. As CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster contractors, we register 5-Star Protection warranties that include 25 years of SureStart manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage. None of these are available through uncertified contractors.

The certifications are earned through years of training, install audits, and customer satisfaction tracking. Each manufacturer maintains the certification only if our install quality and review scores stay above their thresholds. We’ve held OC Platinum Preferred since 2008, GAF Master Elite for over a decade, and CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster certification continuously. The audits matter because they keep us honest. We can’t cut corners on material grade, install method, or finish quality — the manufacturers track every job we register.

The crew matters as much as the certifications. Our gutter repair crews are W-2 employees of Econo Roofing, not subcontractors. Each crew member completes annual factory training from GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed. We invest in training because the difference between a 25-year roof and a 35-year roof comes down to install detail. Proper underlayment lap. Correct nail placement and depth. Sealed flashing. Adequate attic ventilation. None of these require special tools — just trained, supervised installers who care about the work. Mario Espindola personally reviews every project scope before work begins and walks the finished roof before the crew leaves.

We also stand by our work financially. We carry $1 million general liability insurance and full workers comp coverage. We’re bonded ($25,000 CSLB contractor bond). License #749551, verifiable at CSLB.ca.gov. We’re family-owned and operated since 1996 — same family, same standards, three regional brands (Econo Roofing in Delhi, Nushake Roofing in Ripon, DeHart Roofing in Turlock). We’re not going anywhere. If something goes wrong with your gutter repair project — even years later — we’re here to make it right. That permanence matters when you’re investing in 30-50 years of weatherproofing.

Pricing is flat-rate. We quote the project, you approve the project, and that’s the price. No change orders mid-project unless you change the scope. No surprise charges. No upselling once the crew is on the roof. Free written estimates with no obligation, available across all 52 cities we serve.
