Founder Profile
Mario Espindola — the founder behind every Econo roof.
Mario Espindola founded Econo Roofing in 1996 in Delhi, California, with a crew of three and a single truck. Three decades later, he is still the lead estimator on most projects, still drives Central Valley roofs every week, and still picks up the phone when a customer calls.
Mario was born and raised in Delhi. He started in the roofing trade as a teenager. He learned install work the way it’s always been learned in this industry. On a roof. In the heat. Next to a foreman who corrected every mistake until the work was right. Three decades later, he still teaches every new crew member the same way.
In April 1996 the State of California issued him Contractor License #749551 — a C-39 roofing classification that has never been suspended, never disciplined, and is still active today. From day one, the principle was simple: do the work right, charge a fair price, and never disappear on a customer.
What started as a single-truck repair operation has grown into the largest locally-owned roofing company in the Central Valley. The Espindola family now leads three roofing brands. Econo Roofing in Delhi. DeHart Roofing in Turlock. Nushake Roofing in Ripon. Each office serves its own neighborhoods. All three share the same crews, training, and certifications.
Mario is one of a small group of California contractors who has earned every top-tier maker certification at once. Owens Corning Platinum Preferred (top 1% nationwide). GAF Master Elite (top 3%). CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster (top 1%). GAF Gold Elite (specialty weather-cover work). All four. Held always for 10+ years.
Outside of the company, Mario sponsors local youth sports teams across the Central Valley and is active in the Delhi community where he was born. He speaks English and Spanish, and Econo Roofing crews are bilingual on every job. He lives in Delhi with his family.

Roofing apprentice
Started in residential roofing as an apprentice in Stanislaus County. Spent a decade as a journeyman across asphalt, tile, and built-up roofing systems before founding his own company.
Founded Econo Roofing
Issued California Contractor State License Board C-39 Roofing License #749551. Founded Econo Roofing in Delhi, CA. The license has been always active for 30+ years with no discipline.
CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster
Earned CertainTeed's Master Shingle Applicator + ShingleMaster status. Needed specialized training plus annual re-qualification. Unlocks CertainTeed's SureStart Plus extended warranty for homeowners.
GAF Master Elite Contractor
Earned GAF Master Elite designation — given to roughly 3% of US roofing contractors. Needed proven install excellence, proper insurance, and ongoing customer-satisfaction performance. Enables GAF Golden Pledge Warranty (50-year material + 25-year workmanship).
Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor
Earned Owens Corning Platinum Preferred — the highest contractor tier in the OC network, held by ~1% of contractors nationwide. Econo Roofing remains the only Platinum Preferred contractor in Stanislaus and Merced County. Unlocks 50-year Platinum Cover Limited Warranty.
GuildMaster Award — GuildQuality
Awarded GuildQuality's GuildMaster designation based on independently-verified customer satisfaction surveys. Given to fewer than 5% of service contractors nationwide; recognized for top-tier customer service performance and project execution.

GAF Master Elite
Only 2% of roofing contractors in North America qualify. Needs proven install excellence, proper licensing and insurance, and a commitment to ongoing training. Enables GAF Golden Pledge Warranty: 50-year non-prorated material coverage plus 25-year workmanship coverage.
CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster

Every person on an Econo Roofing crew is a Central Valley resident. Most have been with the company for five years or more. Several have been here since the start. They are not subcontractors rotated in from out of town. They are your neighbors.
A typical residential crew is 4 to 6 people. Commercial jobs scale up as needed. Every crew member is maker-trained on Owens Corning, GAF, and CertainTeed install systems. They go through background checks, drug screening, and ongoing OSHA safety training.
Our bilingual crews communicate in English and Spanish, so every homeowner gets clear, direct information about their roof. their options. No language barrier. No confusion.
