How It Works

Your new roof in four steps.

1

Inspection & Material Selection

We inspect your existing roof, measure accurately, and walk you through material options. You choose the shingle line, color, and warranty tier that fits your home and budget.

2

Full Tear-Off

We strip your old roof down to the deck. This is the only way to inspect the wood sheathing underneath and replace any damaged or rotted sections before the new roof goes on.

3

Certified Installation

New underlayment, ice and water shield in valleys, drip edge, and your chosen shingles installed to maker specs. Every nail, every overlap, every flashing detail done by the book.

4

Cleanup & Warranty Registration

Magnetic nail sweep of your entire property, debris hauled away, and your maker warranty registered before we leave. Most residential replacements are completed in one to three days.

Material Options

Choose the right shingle for your home.

We carry every major maker line. Your choice affects appearance, durability, warranty length, and cost. Here are the most popular options.

Owens Corning Duration

SureNail technology, 130 mph wind rating, 30+ color options. Eligible for the Platinum Cover Limited Warranty with up to 50 years of non-prorated coverage through our OC Platinum Preferred status.

GAF Timberline HDZ

America's number one selling shingle. LayerLock technology, StainGuard Plus algae cover, and the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty through our Master Elite certification.

CertainTeed Landmark

Dual-layered fiber glass mat with Max Def color technology. Class A fire rated, 110 mph wind rating, and CertainTeed SureStart Plus warranty through our Select ShingleMaster status.

Designer & Premium Lines

For homeowners who want the look of natural slate or cedar shake, we install OC Berkshire, GAF Grand Canyon, and CertainTeed Grand Manor. Higher cost, but a dramatic upgrade in curb appeal and longevity.

Why Econo Roofing

The highest warranty tier. Guaranteed.

Up to 50-Year Warranty

Our OC Platinum Preferred and GAF Master Elite status unlocks the highest warranty tiers from every maker. No other contractor in Stanislaus or Merced County can offer this level of coverage.

Full Tear-Off Standard

We never layer new shingles over old. Full tear-off lets us inspect and repair the deck, install proper underlayment, and ensure the new roof performs for its full warranty life.

One to Three Day Completion

Most residential roofs are completed in one to three days depending on size and complexity. We never leave your home exposed overnight.

When to Call

Signs it is time for a new roof.

Replacement is the right call when repairs can no longer solve the underlying problem. Here are the clearest indicators.

Roof is 20+ years old

Most asphalt shingle roofs reach end of life between 20 and 25 years in Central Valley conditions.

Multiple active leaks

When leaks appear in many locations, the roof system has failed, not just one spot.

Widespread shingle deterioration

Curling, cracking, and granule loss across most of the roof means the material is spent.

Repair costs approaching 30% of replacement

When cumulative repair bills approach a third of replacement cost, a new roof is the better investment.

Not sure yet? Schedule a free roof inspection and we will give you an honest assessment. For small, localized issues, roof repair may be the smarter move.

Frequently asked

About roof replacement.

How long does a full roof replacement take?

Most single-family homes finish tear-off to final inspection in 2–5 days. Steep pitches, many dormers, or tile installs extend to 7–10 days. We start each morning at 7 AM and finish daily by 5 PM unless emergency tarping is needed.

Should I replace my roof or repair it?

Repair if: less than 25% of the roof is damaged, the underlying decking is sound,, the existing material has 5+ years of life. Replace if: the material is past its rated lifespan, you have many active leaks, or repair costs go over 50% of replacement. Our free inspection gives you the honest answer.

What's the best roofing material for the Central Valley?

For 90% of homes: GAF Timberline HDZ or OC Duration architectural shingles with 50-year warranty — the price-performance sweet spot. For Mediterranean-style homes: concrete or clay tile (Eagle Capistrano profile). For fire-zone properties or new builds: standing-seam metal.

Do I need to be home during the replacement?

No. We can work entirely from the exterior. You'll hear the work happening, but you don't need to be home unless you want to. Many of our jobs run while owners are at work or on vacation.

Can you replace the roof and the gutters at the same time?

Yes — we strongly suggest it. Replacing gutters during a re-roof saves labor (we're already up there) and ensures the new gutter slope matches the new fascia line. Combined cost is 15–20% less than doing them separately.

What financing options do you offer?

We partner with GreenSky and ServiceFinance for 0% intro-period financing on qualified buyers, plus 60–120 month plans for larger projects. Financing is presented at the in-person quote so you see the actual monthly payment before deciding.

A note from Mario

How we approach roof replacement.

A roof replacement is a 30-year decision. The warranty tier you pick at install determines what your kids inherit when this is their roof.

When You Need It

When to call us for roof replacement.

A full roof replacement is the right call when shingles hit end-of-life. That’s usually 20-30 years for asphalt, 30-50 years for tile. Or when 30%+ of the roof shows damage. Or when repairs aren’t holding. Or when underlayment has failed under tile. We’ll tell you honestly which path makes financial sense.

Materials & Methods

Roof Replacement materials & systems we install.

We install Owens Corning Duration Series, GAF Timberline HDZ and Timberline UHDZ, CertainTeed Landmark architectural shingles, Eagle Capistrano and Boral concrete tile, clay tile from MCA and Westlake, and standing-seam metal from PAC-CLAD and Englert. Underlayment options include synthetic peel-and-stick (high-temp ice & water shield in valleys and around penetrations) plus standard synthetic for the field. Class 4 impact-rated upgrade adds 5-10% to material cost and usually returns 10-15% in insurance discounts.

Process & Timeline

What to expect — our roof replacement process.

Replacement projects start with an in-home consultation. We discuss material options, pull material samples, and review color schemes against your home’s exterior. Then we pull the building permit through your local department. We schedule the install when materials arrive. Most full replacements run 1-3 days for asphalt, 5-7 days for tile.

Cost Factors

Roof Replacement cost in California.

Full residential roof replacement in California usually runs $10,000-$35,000 depending on roof size (counted in 100-square-foot "squares"), pitch, deck condition, and material choice. A 2,000-sq-ft typical Central Valley home with architectural shingle averages $14,000-$22,000 turnkey. Tile re-roofs run $25,000-$50,000+ due to material weight, labor complexity, and underlayment-only repair vs full lift-and-relay scenarios. Financing available — see our financing page.

What sets us apart

Why homeowners choose us for roof replacement.

The biggest difference between us and most other roof replacement contractors comes down to certification. Most local roofers can install the materials. Few can register the warranties that protect those installations for 25-50 years. As OC Platinum Preferred contractors — the top 1% of Owens Corning installers nationwide — we register Platinum Protection warranties that cover both materials and workmanship for life, non-prorated. As GAF Master Elite contractors — the top 2% of GAF installers — we register Golden Pledge warranties that cover 50 years of materials plus 25 years of workmanship. As CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster contractors, we register 5-Star Protection warranties that include 25 years of SureStart manufacturer-backed workmanship coverage. None of these are available through uncertified contractors.

The certifications are earned through years of training, install audits, and customer satisfaction tracking. Each manufacturer maintains the certification only if our install quality and review scores stay above their thresholds. We’ve held OC Platinum Preferred since 2008, GAF Master Elite for over a decade, and CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster certification continuously. The audits matter because they keep us honest. We can’t cut corners on material grade, install method, or finish quality — the manufacturers track every job we register.

The crew matters as much as the certifications. Our roof replacement crews are W-2 employees of Econo Roofing, not subcontractors. Each crew member completes annual factory training from GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed. We invest in training because the difference between a 25-year roof and a 35-year roof comes down to install detail. Proper underlayment lap. Correct nail placement and depth. Sealed flashing. Adequate attic ventilation. None of these require special tools — just trained, supervised installers who care about the work. Mario Espindola personally reviews every project scope before work begins and walks the finished roof before the crew leaves.

We also stand by our work financially. We carry $1 million general liability insurance and full workers comp coverage. We’re bonded ($25,000 CSLB contractor bond). License #749551, verifiable at CSLB.ca.gov. We’re family-owned and operated since 1996 — same family, same standards, three regional brands (Econo Roofing in Delhi, Nushake Roofing in Ripon, DeHart Roofing in Turlock). We’re not going anywhere. If something goes wrong with your roof replacement project — even years later — we’re here to make it right. That permanence matters when you’re investing in 30-50 years of weatherproofing.

Pricing is flat-rate. We quote the project, you approve the project, and that’s the price. No change orders mid-project unless you change the scope. No surprise charges. No upselling once the crew is on the roof. Free written estimates with no obligation, available across all 52 cities we serve. (209) 668-6222 connects you with the same team that has been doing this work for 30+ years.
